Weekend Warrior 6/15/12

by Jack Gardner on Jun 15, 2012 at 02:00 PM

This weekend we have weddings to go to, games to play, zoos to rob (err... enjoy), and birthdays to party. Read on to see what the weekend has in store for the various people of Game Informer.

Ben Hanson: After finally getting past a difficult boss fight, I've rekindled my love affair with Xenoblade. I'm really looking forward to putting in some long hours of Xenobladin' and podcastin'. Other than that, I might play a bit more Diablo 3.

Andy McNamara: Going to watch the Nature Valley Grand Prix bike race in Uptown Minneapolis this evening, which will be the first bike race I have ever attended in person. Once the festivities end, it's off to the basement for Avenger's Chronicles Pinball and cocktails until I can't keep my eyes open. I've been dying to play these tables ever since our Zen Studio feature back in the Assassin's Creed III issue so any and all free moments this weekend will be spent with Marvel and the silver ball. Saturday morning I'm joining a group ride to Wisconsin - which should be quite long - then it's off to a BBQ dinner that leads into an evening with clan Dan as he celebrates his birthday party at various dive bars around Minneapolis. Sunday is for recovery and more pinball.

Jeff Marchiafava: After being too lazy to play any games after E3, I’ve got a full slate planned for this weekend. I’ll be playing some Borderlands with Jeff Cork and Bryan on Saturday, checking out some new Pinball FX 2 tables, and continuing Assasin’s Creed: Brotherhood, which I started this week after the exciting AC III demos we saw last week. Video games!

Ali Rapp: This weekend, I'm hosting a coloring party (Crayola or bust). Gaming-wise, I'll be sticking to handhelds like Oracle of Seasons because Sunday's lightning storm fried a part inside my TV and it's in the repair shop. I also recently started playing Amnesia with my boyfriend, so I suppose we'll play a little bit of that/I'll crap my pants in fear.

Tim Turi: This weekend I’m attending a wedding, so I’ll likely end up with a drink in my hand more often than a controller. If I can successfully carve out some time for games, however, I’ll definitely be playing Transformers: War for Cybertron. Playing Fall of Cyberton at E3 2012 got me excited, so I’m trying to catch up with High Moon’s last game in time for the new one’s fall release.

Jack Gardner: Tonight, I’ll be seeing Prometheus with my friend Josh. Tomorrow I continue my acid trip through El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron and spending some time on the StarCraft 2 ladder. For Father’s Day, I’m going to be taking my brother and his family out to the zoo to see dinosaurs.
