Journey Dev Gets $5.5M Investment

thatgamecompany has secured $5.5M in funding from Benchmark Capital, and plans to use the money to expand its future indie game development beyond consoles.

Founder Jenova Chen said the company, which is best known for its critically-acclaimed games flOw, Flower, and Journey, is looking into publishing on platforms like the iPad and Facebook.

As a result of the investment, Benchmark Capital General Partner Mitch Lasky, a former executive vice president at Electronic Arts, is joining thatgamecompany's board of directors.
