Weekend Warrior 05/11/12

by Ben Reeves on May 11, 2012 at 02:00 PM

This weekend is Mother’s Day, so tell your mom you love her, take her out to a nice dinner, and then tear her a new one in Call of Duty.

Jeff Marchiafava: This week I took advantage of the Pixeljunk sale and bought five of their games. So I’ll probably spend a good chunk of the weekend playing them – well, at least Pixeljunk Shooter 1 & 2, anyway. Wait, Mother’s Day is this weekend? Well, hopefully my mom likes blasting aliens too...

Tim Turi: This weekend I’ll be cranking through Ezio’s adventure in Assassin’s Creed II. It feels good to finally be catching up on that series, which has been a mark of shame for me for some time. I’m also hoping to get a head start on Max Payne 3!

Kyle Hilliard: I really wanted to try and see Paul F. Tompkins do some stand-up comedy on Saturday, but the babysitter was unavailable, and the baby is too young to get most of his jokes. In lieu of that, I’ll be split-screening some Minecraft on Xbox 360 with my wife, and finishing up the last bit of I Am Alive.

Jeff Akervik: Deus Ex: Human Revolution just keeps on going and going. I really thought I would finish it up last weekend, but to no avail. So this is the weekend it ends. Not that I want it to because, damn, it's a fine game – but it's time. I'm also going to check out The Avengers this weekend and see what all the buzz is about. Other than that, I'll be looking to get my hands on some Hot Hot Jam!

Jim Reilly: This weekend I’m playing Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City. I’m also going suit shopping for E3 and getting another suit tailored for a wedding I’m attending in San Diego over Memorial Day weekend.

Ben Hanson: This weekend I will finally be quenching my thirst for a Sunset Rider marathon. The gameplan is for Tim, Dan, and Bryan to join me in finishing the arcade version of the game before we launch into the spiritual successor called Mystic Warriors. I also plan on indoctrinating the three of those gentlemen into my cult of Driver: San Francisco split-screen tag mode. Other than that, I'll probably continue playing Xenoblade and whatever else tickles my fancy.
