Portal 2 Takes Game Of The Year From BAFTA

by Kyle Hilliard on Mar 17, 2012 at 12:44 PM

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts likes to give out awards to video games along with film and television. The only reason gaming isn't part of the BAFTA acronym, is because BAFTVGA is unpronounceable.

You can see the whole list of recipients here, but here are some highlights. As referenced in the headline, Portal 2 took home game of the year honors as well as best design, and best story. Battlefield 3 took home game of the year honors from the public voters, along with best online. Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet beat out Bastion and L.A. Noire for best debut game. Skyrim was heavily nominated, but didn't actually take home any awards.

How do you feel about the winners? Portal 2 was my personal favorite in 2011, so I am always happy to see it receive accolades.
