Microsoft Flight Simulator has been around since the early days of Windows, but it never looked anywhere near so good as it does in its latest incarnation. Though Flight lacks the "Simulator" in its name, this free-to-play PC game is as dedicated to recreating reality as ever. Not that you can tell from this techno-fueled trailer.

Anyone can download the game for free and mess around the air above the Hawaiian islands in an Icon A5 aircraft. Activities include taking on simple courier missions, searching for the "aerocaches" that Microsoft is dropping location hints on a weekly basis for, or simply admiring the impressive scenery. Further areas, aircraft, and jobs can be purchased for cash money in the Games for Windows Live Marketplace.

Microsoft Flight is anything but a death-defying edge-of-your-seat Hollywood-inspired adventure, but it's easily the most accessible simulator out there for anyone curious about the ins and outs of civilian flying – and true enthusiasts will appreciate the latest iteration of hardcore aeronautical physics and aircraft modeling.
