Weekend Warrior 03/02/12

by Kyle Hilliard on Mar 02, 2012 at 01:03 PM

Some of us have Mass Effect 3 a few days early, and some of us don't. Some of us are going to have much more epic trilogy-concluding weekend than others.

Reiner: Now that Mass Effect 3 is so far behind us, I figured I would go back to it for a long overdue fourth playthrough. I'm also knee-deep in my baseball reviews, so  I'll likely spend most of my weekend playing as 2012's World Series champs, the Chicago Cubs.

Phil Kollar: Mass Effect 3. MASS. EFFECT. 3.

Jeff Marchiafava: This weekend I’ll be blasting through the Mass Effect 2 DLC in preparation for Mass Effect 3, which I’ll be playing all next week while on vacation. After all, you can’t save the galaxy with some half-assed, “I’ll play in the evenings after work” approach. Hopefully my bosses will appreciate the dedication!

Bryan Vore: I managed to score one of the coveted early copies of Mass Effect 3 to go nuts on over the weekend. I started it last night and my mind is already blown. If you don't have a surround sound system, go get one before you play this game. It's the best game sound design I've ever heard. Fat bass, beautiful music, excellent voice work. It makes me cry to think of all the wimpy TV speakers this magic will be played through.

Kyle Hilliard: I’ll be writing news for the website this weekend, and when I’m not doing that, I’ll be finishing up Alan Wake’s American Nightmare and Jak II, and maybe playing some SSX. I will also be frowning at my Xbox 360 friends list as some copies of Mass Effect 3 have made it to the office and into the hands of some of the editors.

Tim Turi: This weekend I’ll have scant time to finish up a few games before I head out to San Francisco, CA. I want finish Asura’s Wrath and Rhythm Heaven Fever, but at the same time I need to put more time into my second playthrough of Resident Evil: Revelations. Thankfully I’ll have my 3DS and games like Resident Evil: Revelations, Pokémon SoulSilver, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, and Rhythm Heaven to keep me company on my flight.

Jim Reilly: I'm going to put bags on my feet, walk through the snow, and go play the original Assassin's Creed.

Dan Ryckert: I'm coming back from San Francisco Friday night, then enjoying about 24 hours of not getting yelled at by homeless people. Then I go back to San Francisco on Sunday for GDC.
