Battlefield 3: Aftershock Shelved Permanently

by Jim Reilly on Mar 01, 2012 at 11:33 AM

EA said it has permanently suspended development of Battlefield 3: Aftershock and will now focus on other titles.

The publisher pulled the game from the App store last week after complaints about its quality. EA said the servers for Battlefield 3: Aftershock will be left online through the rest of the month for those who already downloaded it.

“In the interest of bringing consumers only the highest level of quality mobile entertainment, EA Mobile has decided to suspend development and support of Battlefield 3: Aftershock and refocus its resources on other titles," a spokesperson told Game Informer. "The Aftershock servers will be live through March 31st, 2012, and customers who have already downloaded the game can continue to play until then.

"We thank our customers for playing Battlefield 3: Aftershock and encourage them to explore some of the other exciting titles in our mobile lineup."

Battlefield 3: Aftershock was free to download.
