Weekend Warrior 02/17/12

by Ben Reeves on Feb 17, 2012 at 01:03 PM

It’s the weekend. Some of use will be taking road trips to watch wrestling and some of use will be playing video games. Who is the true winner in this scenario?

Phil Kollar: Despite some work that I need to get done, this is shaping up to be a pretty awesome weekend. I’ll be headed out with a friend to see Dr. Dog perform live tonight. After that and into tomorrow, I’ll be working on finishing up Final Fantasy XIII-2 (still), wrapping up my Mass Effect 2 Insanity run (still), and jumping into the Guild Wars 2 closed beta (finally). I need, like, 50-100 more hours for the weekend. Can anyone help me out?

Ben Hanson: This weekend I will be making every possible social excuse in an effort to continue playing through Mass Effect 2 for the second time. For some dumb reason I lost my old save file so I have a ticking clock to finish ME2 and all of the DLC before the Reapers arrive in early March. I’m sure that I will also find some time to play Triple Town, which is a lovely iOS game that has completely infiltrated my heart and soul. Have a good weekend!

Jeff Marchiafava: This weekend I plan on playing more Pinball FX 2. The office has gotten competitive again, which provides a great excuse for going back to old tables and replaying them again. I’ll probably also play more Skate 3, and maybe even finish off Saint’s Row: the Third. Or I’ll nap for most of the weekend. One of the two.

Jason Oestreicher: In preparation for my wife finally moving here, I have big plans to clean up the living quarters. HAD big plans, I should say. Those plans were dashed once I got an invite into the Guild Wars 2 closed beta. I'm also finally checking out NeverDead in the hopes that everyone that's bashing it is wrong and dumb and just hates fun – this game looks amazing to me.

Tim Turi: This weekend I’ll be continuing my reunion with my old friends Jak and Daxter in Jak 3. I’m really loving the fact that I was rewarded with an HD version for putting this title off so long. Otherwise, I’ll continue my second trek through Resident Evil: Revelations. Also, a bonfire, adult beverages, rock climbing, comedy, and a cat. You figure it out.

Kyle Hilliard: After getting my platinum trophy for Jak & Daxter, it’s time to move on to Jak II. Little known fact: Jak II is probably in my top ten favorite games of all time. I love a good platformer. I’ll also be on the wire, delivering all the video game news that matters to you. I may also mop the kitchen floor, but I am not making any promises.
