Minecraft Fixes Racist Update
Minecraft has benefited greatly from its community, but sometimes terrible crowd-sourced additions slip through the cracks. A recent update to the game contains some racist language. Fortunately, the problem has been fixed.
A recorded on Minecraft’s forums, a recent Minecraft update made it so that when players changing the game language to Afrikaans – spoken in South Africa and Namibia – the title screen displayed the racially offensive phrase "You are a N*****."
Mojang's Jens Bergensten apologized for the offensive language and encouraged fans to check the new translation. The new Afrikaans title screen now reads "enkelspeler," which means "single player.” Let’s all try to be nice to each other day. Go buy someone a coke.
