Kingdoms of Amalur Has Locked Out Single-Player Quests

by Jim Reilly on Jan 27, 2012 at 08:27 AM

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning locks out an entire quest line comprised of seven individual quests unless you have an online pass.

Destructoid reports the final retail copy includes a code that unlocks the House of Valor quest line and the Mass Effect 3 tie-in armor. Those who purchase the game new will get the code for free. But if you buy the game used and the code has already been redeemed, you will have to purchase a new code, which typically cost between $5 and $15.

Game Informer asked EA for additional comment and details about the content. We'll update this story if we hear more.

[Update]: Here is EA's statement:

The House of Valor quest line is free bonus content available to those who purchase a new copy of Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning for the Xbox 360 and PS3 by entering the Online Pass included with the game.

PC players who purchase Reckoning at one of the many digital retailers online including Origin, Steam and more, will also receive the House of Valor quest line at no cost.
