Super Mario Bros. 3 is widely considered one of the best platformers of all-time, and we at GI loved it enough to dedicate an entire Super Replay to it (Reiner still owes me a sandwich thanks to a bet in that one, by the way). A Nintendo fan named Chris Covell stumbled upon a Japanese picture book from 1989, and he was surprised to find numerous pictures dedicated to the development of the NES classic.
