Tour The Xbox 360's New Dashboard

by Tim Turi on Dec 04, 2011 at 02:29 PM

Microsoft is not afraid to shake things up when it comes to the Xbox 360's user interface. An update brings a fresh look to your 360 this Tuesday, bringing big changes to the way you navigate the console.

This video tour by Gamesradar highlights the big changes to the UI. The biggest differences I can notice include the menu layout, achievement score organization, the bing search function, and cloud saving. While being able to search for anything available on the 360 by entering a single word is neat for finding games quickly, I'm more interested in the cloud save functionality. I'm someone who routinely loads my 360 profile onto a USB to bring to a friend's house, then 99 percent of the time forgets it and has to spend time recovering the stupid thing when I get home (if I can remember my blasted Windows Live ID). This cloud save option allows you to toss your profile into the ether for easy access on any friend's 360 with an internet connection. Sony loyalists have to pay for a PlayStation Plus account to enjoy that sort of convenience, so enjoy it!
