EA Buys Social Gaming Company KlickNation

by Matt Helgeson on Dec 01, 2011 at 02:25 PM

The developer of social games like SuperHero City and Age of Champions will henceforth be known as BioWare Sacramento.

After the acquisition is final, BioWare Sacramento will be partnered with BioWare's existing social game team as part of a new division of the company called BioWare Social.

In a candid, hard-hitting quote that is definitely not from a press release, BioWare  senior vice president and GM Dr. Ray Muzyka said, "KlickNation's expertise in building innovative and compelling RPGs for social platforms makes them a seamless tuck-in with the BioWare team at EA. We share the same creative values. The new BioWare Social unit will bring BioWare and EA franchises to the growing audience of core gamers who are looking for high quality, rich gameplay experiences on social platforms."

Perhaps we'll see more BioWare franchises coming to Facebook, as the developer did with Dragon Age Legends.
