Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Viral Marketing Begins?

by Matthew Kato on Nov 16, 2011 at 03:43 AM

The world is full of secrets, and it looks like Ubisoft may have started leaking some of them in conjunction with the viral marketing campaign for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

Antoine Emond, a community developer for Ubisoft who is working with the game, tweeted a few cryptic comments: "WxRxOxGxxx", "inc.net", and "welcome to the *real* world." This may be referring readers to warmongersinc.net, a newly created blog site (of which Emond is a user) with a WikiLeaks-style agenda decrying the state of the media/world.

The "files" on the site all seem to pertain to Mexican drug cartels, so it's not known how this relates to the story of Future Soldier – which involves a coup in Russia. Perhaps this is linking the new story to the last two Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter games, which involved Mexico.
