It's no secret that Mojang's Minecraft is a phenomenon, spawning everything from T-shirts to Minecon, a Minecraft convention that will take place later this month. Recently, the game passed an impressive sales milestone.

According to the statistic page on the Minecraft site, 4,004,259 gamers have purchased Minecraft. That represents 24.91 percent of registered users (16,077,164). The statistic page also shows that the torrid pace of Minecraft registration and sales continues, with over 44,000 new registered accounts and 8,810 purchases in the last 24 hours.
