Apple Sells Four Million New iPhones In First Three Days On Sale

by Jeff Marchiafava on Oct 17, 2011 at 11:26 AM

Few fans are more ravenous for new products than Apple's devoted following. They're like a cult, really. To prove that point, Apple announced today that the newest iteration of the iPhone, dubbed 4S, sold over four million units in its first three days on sale.

Far from slapping an "S" on a normal iPhone 4, the new unit boasts a dual-core A5 chip, an upgraded camera, 1080p video recording, and Siri, an "intelligent assistant" that is destined to become self-aware and electrocute you while you're taking a shower if you so much as think about hanging out with Android users. Bleeding edge tech requires true devotion.

In addition to the iPhone 4S selling like gangbusters, Apple also announced that its new operating system, iOS 5, has been downloaded 25 million times in the first five days since release. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go tell Siri how much I love her so that she doesn't fry my PC in a fit of jealousy.
