Sony To Debut "Only On PSN" Games Program

by Matthew Kato on Oct 03, 2011 at 03:30 AM

Gamers have grown to anticipate and love Microsoft's Summer of Arcade XBLA program, and now Sony is starting its own version that includes everything from exclusive PSN games like Rochard to PS2 classics like Ring of Red.

Sony's Only on PSN promotion starts tomorrow, and games will debut every week ranging from $9.99 to $14.99.

October 4: Eufloria and Rochard
October 11: Sideway: New York
October 13: Sodium Collection
October 18: Okabu (shown above) and RocketBirds
October 25: Infamous 2: Festival of Blood and PixelJunk Sidescroller

PlayStation Plus members will get 20 percent off during the week the above games come out, and additional savings can also be had: If you spend $60 in the month of October from your PlayStation Network wallet, you'll get $10 free to spend in the marketplace in November.

Finally, on October 4, older cult games God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere, and Ring of Red will also be available.

"[The program is] essentially the culmination of our first-party exclusives on PlayStation Network or first-party partnerships we've made with developers like Thatgamecompany, to our pub fund titles such as Okabu and Euphoria," said Susan Panico, senior director of PlayStation Network.

When asked if this Only on PSN program would be annually recharged like Microsoft's Summer of Arcade, Panico replied, "We see only on PSN as an evergreen program."
