Weekend Warrior 09/23/11
IT'S FRIDAY IT'S FRIDAY IT'S FRIDAY! That means the weekend is here, which means more time to play video games! Here's what some of the GI staff have planned for their weekend gaming. Let us know your plans in the comments.
Kyle Hilliard: I'll be spending the weekend driving an RV carrying my pregnant wife and two cats (Agro and Colonel Mustard) from South Carolina to Minnesota. After that, I should be all moved into my new home state. I'm thinking I probably won't be able to squeeze in any gaming this weekend. Unless of course the cats feel like putting some time in behind the wheel.
Tim Turi: This weekend I’ll be continuing my battle against the Chimera in Resistance 3. I’m hoping to finish the excellent campaign so I can spend some time in multiplayer as well. Also, I haven’t finished Bastion… shame on me.
Dan Ryckert: Going to see the hilarious Anthony Jeselnik tonight at Acme next door with a bunch of friends and GI folk, then possibly heading to my favorite karaoke bar. No huge plans for tomorrow, but there’s some crazy Beerfest thing going on during the afternoon and an independent wrestling event that night, so that’s a possibility. Sunday will probably be a Gears of War 3 marathon followed by Breaking Bad.
Jeff Marchiafava: I’ll be working this weekend, so any gaming will have to be done in bite-sized pieces. Luckily, I’ve got a couple of options on my plate, including a fan-made TGM clone for PC, UniWar on my phone, and Rock Band 3 for the occasional music break. My nights, on the other hand, will be spent back on Dead Island, smashing zombies’ heads in.

Ben Hanson: This weekend I will continue to play through Space Marine. I’ve never been a fan of action games but I’m really enjoying my time with this one on PC. I don’t know anything about Warhammer, so I just play this game like a bizarre Starcraft/Warcraft mash-up where my marine is slaughtering hundreds of orcs. Sorry, Warhammer fans. I’m continuing to play Age of Empires Online as well, still having a great time with it. I also started to play Another World on my iPhone last night, I’ve heard great things about it for years and (while occasionally frustrating) it holds up well and stands apart as one of the most unique games on the market.
Ben Reeves: Gears of War 3. Breaking Bad. Beer Fests. Making honey stout. Comic reading. Tommy Wi Show. Zombie Killing. Ninja star practice. I don’t have time for full sentences.
Phil Kollar: With Gears of War 3 finally released, I’m planning to have a bro-weekend full of beer drinking, pizza eating, and Gears. Okay, technically this bro weekend will be spent with a female friend rather than any actual bros, but still. Aside from that, I’ll be spending some more time with my review build of Dark Souls. Can’t wait to start talking about this one.
Jeff Cork: It's been a week since we moved into our new place, and I think we're settled in enough for me not to get slugged for ducking into the basement and playing a few games. I'm hoping to play some Dead Island and maybe a bit of Deus Ex. While surrounded by boxes.
