It’s undeniable that the impact of the annual Tokyo Game Show is diminishing from year to year. Despite a lack of solid new content relevant to gamers across the globe, TGS 2011 enjoyed its highest attendance ever this year. 222,668 people shouldered their way towards controllers and booth babes in Japan’s Makuhari Messe convention center.
The first two days of the convention were dedicated to press, and those days attendance averaged around 25,000. Saturday marked TGS’ highest single day attendance, with 86,251, many of which in crazy anime or video game costumes.
The Tokyo Game Show 2012 is confirmed for next year, starting Thursday, September 20 to Sunday, September 23. Let’s hope there’s more to talk about next year.
