Valve is stoking imaginations and saluting the power of education by offering the original Portal game for free until September 20.

Valve is offering the game for free at its learnwithportals.com site for a limited times in the hopes of boosting kids' interest in physics, math, logic, and other kinds of learning.

"Innovative educators are finding ways to incorporate Portal and Portal 2 into their classrooms-helping teach physics and critical-thinking skills," said the developer. "It's eye-opening to see how video games can be used in amazing and unexpected ways to help educate our next generation."
