Sights Of Tokyo Game Show 2011: Day Two

by Tim Turi on Sep 15, 2011 at 05:57 PM

There's a lot of interesting sights to see at the Tokyo Game Show this year. The second day of the show packs just as many interesting scenes of the first, so take the time to share Game Informer's perspective of the convention.

[Above] Eager Final Fantasy fans take a crack at the latest demo of FF XIII-2.

Dragon's Dogma, Anarchy Reigns, and Final Fantasy: Type 0 are some of the first games you see advertised on the way into the show.

A closer look at the brooding, androgynous character adorning the FF: Type 0 banner.

Rage has a surprisingly prominent presence at the entrance to the Makuhari Messe convention hall.

Prospective video game creators check out the many schools trying to plump their tuition numbers.

I immediately thought of Number Munchers and Mario Teaches Typing. They  weren't there, it turns out.

Square-Enix brings over popular Western games like Rage and Assassin's Creed.

Sadly the new Dragon's Quest MMO isn't playable, but there is this awesome display.

A cartoon teardrop and happy chicken loom over the Square-Enix booth.

Refuel with Japan's take on Domino's Pizza. The bacon, pepperoni, and mushrooms on top were great. The mayonnaise in the middle was a surprise.

Wait, who's this?

I think his handlers had heard of Tim Turi before. They appears to be clumsily steering him away from me.

But then I cut off Sonic's Clydesdale-esque trott to capture this awkward gem. He looks so angry.

Here he is reenacting the famous waving scene from Forrest Gump. "Lieutenant Dan!"

A group of Sega fans enjoy staring at an empty stage, the Eiffel tower, and cartoon Michael Jackson.

A crowd of phans line up to play a series I didn't know still existed.

Hall 3 in all it's glory. Don't order a diet coke from the Coke kiosk in the bottom right. Dan tried.

Not an actual boat.

Devil May Cry, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Resident Evil: Revelations all had "premium" trailers.

The creators of Steel Battalion strike a pose after sweating their way through a demo in a muggy hotel room.

This bunny was pretty cool, but he didn't dance battle Sonic like that sweet fish yesterday.
