Namco Announces Three Titles For Vita Launch Window

by Matthew Kato on Sep 14, 2011 at 12:08 PM

The launch of PlayStation Vita is on the horizon, and Namco is pledging their support with three titles scheduled for its launch window.

In what seems to be a bit of a tradition for the publisher and console launches, Vita will see a new version of Ridge Racer. In addition, a new Katamari Damacy title and Shinobido 2: Tales of the Ninja are scheduled for the same timeframe.

Katamari Damacy’s new entry doesn’t yet have an official name or many details, but we know the gameplay will feature “shape-shifting” according to the game’s brief teaser trailer. Considering the Vita’s hardware features, I’d expect something along the lines of pinching and expanding your fingers on one of the touch screens to adjust the size of your Katamari.

Shinobido 2 is the sequel to a stealth-based ninja game that never made it Stateside, and its gameplay appears heavily reminiscent of the Tenchu games.

Specific release dates weren’t revealed, but they should all be available within a couple of months of the Vita launch considering the “launch window” terminology.
