At Least 1.25 Million People Want Battlefield 3
Battlefield 3 won numerous awards at E3 and Gamescom, so no one should be surprised that it's a highly anticipated shooter. How highly anticipated? Apparently it has 1.25 million pre-orders and counting.
EA CFO Eric Brown, speaking at the Citi 2011 Tech Conference today, mentioned the impressive number for DICE's upcoming military juggernaut. According to Brown, BF 3's prospects are even better than its predecessor, Bad Company 2. "To date we have about 1.25 million preorders on Battlefield 3, so it's still well ahead of its predecessor title, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, in regards to preorders in the same number of weeks till launch. So it's doing very well," Brown said.
Yeah, it's not exactly a news flash to say that gamers are looking forward to Battlefield 3. Even so, plenty of publishers would be delighted to have a game sell 1.25 million over its lifetime. Battlefield 3 basically has that locked down before it even releases.
