by Matt Miller on Sep 02, 2011 at 07:20 AM

Ubisoft is spreading the word that the Assassin's Creed: Revelations beta is available for download today in advance of the opening of the beta tomorrow, September 3rd. The beta will then run until September 11th. The early look at the game will be open to Uplay members or PlayStation Plus members. The beta is aiming to include a lot of fun options, detailed in our original story, below.

Will you be assassinating friends this weekend?

Original Story:

PlayStation gamers will be the first to get their hands on all the new assassination tools when the beta opens in just a few weeks.

September 3 could be an exciting day for many Assassin's Creed fans, at least if you happen to also be a PS3 owner. That's the day that Ubisoft plans to release the multiplayer beta for Assassin's Creed Revelations as a timed exclusive on the PlayStation 3. The exclusive lasts for a full week from September 3rd to the 11th.

To get access to the beta, you'll need to be a member of either PlayStation Plus or Uplay. The latter is free.

The multiplayer beta sounds like it's got some pretty hefty content included. Players will have the choice of nine different character skins, including the Sentinel, the Vanguard, the Guardian, the Vizier, the Thespian, the Deacon, the Bombardier, the Trickster, and the Champion. There will be three playable maps and four different gameplay modes, including Wanted, Manhunt, Deathmatch, and Artifact Assault. Ubisoft promises that all of that content is only a "sample of the final multiplayer content."

No matter what system you play on, Assassin's Creed Revelations will show up in its final form on November 15th.
