Limbo Creators Buy Their Own Company Back

by Matt Miller on Aug 31, 2011 at 11:35 AM

Playdead managed to craft quite the hit with its unique black & white platformer last year. Apparently, the game did so well that Playdead is ready to take back possession of its own house.

The news comes via a post at Gamasutra, where it is reported that Playdead has completed the purchase of…itself…from the investors that helped to fund the initial investment to get Limbo out the door. With the company fully in the hands of its founders and managers, Playdead can call its own shots regarding future projects.

We loved Limbo when it initially released on Live Arcade, but you can play the game on PSN and PC as well.

It's always nice to hear about an independent studio finding success. Kudos to the team at Playdead. We can't wait to see what the studio will do next.

Have you played Limbo? If so, would you play another game from the creative team that crafted it?
