Reader Discussion: Are You Happy With Nintendo's Ambassador Program?

by Jeff Marchiafava on Aug 30, 2011 at 01:52 PM

Today Nintendo announced the last five of the ten downloadable NES games that early adopters of the 3DS will receive as a mea culpa for missing out on the recent price cut. Are you happy with the games the company chose for the deal?

In case you missed it, here are the ten games Nintendo will be giving to 3DS owners who bought their system before the price cut:

  • Super Mario Bros.
  • The Legend of Zelda
  • Metroid
  • Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
  • Donkey Kong Jr.
  • NES Open Tournament Golf
  • Wrecking Crew
  • Yoshi
  • Balloon Fight
  • Ice Climber

Nintendo will also be giving away ten free GBA games as well, but let's focus on the NES games. Surely everyone is happy with the likes of Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid, but what about the other titles? Do you think they're indicative of the best the NES had to offer, or would you have chosen differently? Is the Ambassador program a fair trade for those who didn't get benefit from the price cut, or do you wish Nintendo was doing more? Share your thoughts -- along with your list of the top ten NES games -- below.
