Third Penny Arcade Game Is In The Works...Honest

Can you believe that it's been nearly three years since Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode 2 was released? If you've all but given up hope that a third game would be released, cheer up! The trilogy will be complete in 2012.

Hothead Games is no longer working on the series, but indie studio Zeboyd is ready to take over. The third game will be a departure from previous installments. Instead of mimicking an old-school adventure game, On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode 3 will be delving even deeper into gaming history for inspiration. Zeboyd's game Cthulu Saves the World provides a nice glimpse of what's ahead, with a retro 16-bit look.

Look for the game sometime in 2012. We'll keep you posted.
