There was a brief time when folks who looked at the Skyrim collector’s edition and understandably thought the game would only be playable on Games for Windows Live. Despite the logo for Microsoft’s PC gaming client appearing on the box art, Bethesda will actually be utilizing Valve’s popular Steam service.

“We can confirm today that we're using Steamworks for Skyrim,” reads the official Elder Scrolls twitter. The truth is that the game won’t use Games for Windows at all.
