Notch And Bethesda: Quake-Style Conflict Resolution

by Joe Juba on Aug 17, 2011 at 06:34 AM

The creator behind Minecraft, Notch, has thrown down the gauntlet with regards to the lawsuit from Bethesda: "I challenge Bethesda to a game of Quake 3."

On his blog, Notch proposes that instead of going to court, his people and Bethesda's people should square off in Quake 3. "Three of our best warriors against three of your best warriors," he says.

According to the terms of the challenge, if Bethesda wins, Notch will change the name of Scrolls, the project that sparked the lawsuit. If Bethesda loses, the company would have to drop the lawsuit.

Last I checked, Quake 3 wasn't a legally binding contract, but I'd still like to see Notch's challenge answered.
