We kind of liked Mortal Kombat here in the office, and it's clear that we're not alone. According to Warner Bros. Interactive's president, the series reboot has sold close to 3 million copies worldwide.

Martin Tremblay revealed the info in an interview with MCVUK. "We are very pleased with the success of Mortal Kombat so far," Tremblay said before remarking that the game has sold close to 3 million copies worldwide since its April 2011 release.

Tremblay added that Warner has already recouped costs associated with getting the license from the remains of Midway Games, and teased at the future. "With the launch of Mortal Kombat, we have already paid for the acquisition of the Midway assets, and we are just beginning to leverage this acquisition with much more to come."

Dear Warner: If you're reading this, please bring back Gauntlet. Thank you.
