It's usually a disaster when politics and video games intersect it's a disaster. Fortunately, this is one of those rare instances where it's just completely odd. In a recent televised debate, Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain quoted an affirmation from a poet about the importance of not giving up. The thing is, it was actually a line from a song written for Pokémon: The Movie 2000.

Cain ended his remarks by saying "A poet once said, "Life can be a challenge, life can seem impossible, but it's never easy when there's so much on the line.'" The poet in question was disco queen Donna Summer, who wrote the song "The Power of One" for the animated film.

Apparently, he's made the same mistake in the past, incorrectly saying the line was from the closing song to the 2000 Olympics. C'mon, Herman, just admit you're a Pokémaniac. Skip to the 3:30 mark in the clip below to hear the line.
