Ken Levine Talks BioShock Infinite, Move, And Vita

by Adam Biessener on Aug 09, 2011 at 11:12 AM

Irrational Games founder and BioShock creator Ken Levine has never been one to avoid a channel by which he can transmit his thoughts about games. Today, that channel is a heavily produced video courtesy of Sony's official PlayStation Blog.

Levine touches on many aspects of BioShock Infinite in the video below, including what Songbird's role in Columbia is ("We wanted a character who represented the sky in the same way that the Big Daddy represented the ocean.") and what he feelings he hopes to create in players as they explore the relationship between main character Booker and psychically powerful Elizabeth.

It being the PlayStation Blog, there are a fair number of cops to Levine's appreciation of Sony's platforms as well. He speaks at length about how excited he is that you can make a proper shooter for the upcoming PlayStation Vita handheld. "You can finally play a shooter, a real shooter, on a handheld. Seriously, that’s a hole in my soul right now," he said.

Levine's next project, the highly anticipated BioShock Infinite, comes out for PC, PS3, and 360 in 2012. Retailers have the game listed for February, but 2K and Irrational have not given an official date yet.
