True Crime: Hong Kong Coming In 2012 With New Title

by Matt Helgeson on Aug 04, 2011 at 03:15 PM

Square Enix says "the game previously known as True Crime: Hong Kong" is coming in 2012.

In a blog post on Square Enix's European site, the company revealed that it is indeed moving forward with production on the game, which is still being developed by ModNation Racers developer United Front Games, which had started the project when it was still owned by Activision.

The game will document the efforts of Dectective Wei Shen, a Hong Kong police officer who is attempting to go undercover in the notorious Triad organized crime family.

While it's great news that the game is still coming along, it will be interesting to see just how drastic the name change is. Will Square Enix keep the already established True Crime brand and just change the subtitle or rebrand the franchise altogether?
