Halo franchise director Frank O'Connor is tempering expectations of the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition's Kinect support.

In an interview with OXM UK, O'Connor suggested that the game's Kinect support would not affect "core gameplay," but rather add features that enhance the game for owners of the motion-control camera peripheral.

"I don't think it's going to be something that people need to be hyper-excited about," O'Connor said, "It'll be cool, but it's not something you'd put on the front of the box. I don't want to downplay it, but I think of it like this – I use voice on Netflix and it's awesome, and that's what this will be. Something that enhances you overall experience."

He declined to specify how Halo Anniversary integrates Kinect, and said that 343 Industries "[doesn't] even have a date pencilled in for that announcement."
