Double Eleven Studios has only been around for a few years, but the developer has clearly impressed Sony with its work on the PlayStation Vita version of LittleBigPlanet. The two companies have signed a deal that means that Double Eleven will be developing games exclusively for Sony hardware, with an emphasis on the Vita handheld.

"For us to become strong partners with Sony at such a crucial stage in our own development underlines the unswerving commitment we have made to the quality of our production," said Double Eleven Studios' CEO Lee Hutchinson in a statement.

Hutchinson and Matt Shepcar formed the studio in 2010. Hutchinson was a lead engineer at Rockstar Leeds who worked on Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars and other portable games there, and Shepcar was a lead programmer at Rockstar Leeds.
