Steven Stamkos Named NHL 12 Cover Athlete
The Tampa Bay Lightning phenom and former number one overall draft pick is the new spokesman for EA Sports' successful hockey series.
Not familiar with Steven Stamkos? You will be. Just 21 years old, the third-year sniper has already won a Maurice Richard Trophy (awarded to the player with the most goals in a season), earned his first All-Star appearance this past winter, and was a finalist for the 2010-11 Ted Lindsey Award (given to the most outstanding player as voted by the players). With Stamkos' nose for the net and the solid foundation of players that Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman has to work with, his team should be Stanley Cup contenders for years to come.
