Four downloadable characters are going to be joining Mortal Kombat's roster, and Warner Bros. Interactive is giving Xbox 360 players an incentive to snag them all. The game's Season Pass will provide access to each of the new characters as they're released on the marketplace, saving players $5 in the process.

The pass will set you back 1,200 Microsoft Points, versus 400 points for each of the four characters when purchased individually. PlayStation 3 owners will have to pick up each character one at a time for $4.99, since the Season Pass isn't available on the platform.

Since the new characters are completely new fighters, with their own unique combat styles, fatalities, and story endings, Mortal Kombat players on both sides of the aisle will have to download compatibility packs as each new character is added. Even if you don't buy the DLC, downloading those free compatibility packs will unlock two classic skins each time. Not too shabby.

Look for Skarlet to hit the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Store next week, followed by Kenshi, Rain, and a special unannounced fighter.
