Pikmin Coming To Wii U

Cult series Pikmin may be coming to Nintendo's new Wii U console, as none other than Miyamoto himself says he'd like to bring the franchise to the platform.

At a Nintendo roundtable, Miyamoto stopped short of officially announcing an actual game for the Wii U from the series, but he said that he "wanted to see Pikmin there instead [of the Wii]." Miyamoto explained that a Pikmin game for the Wii was being worked on, but the Wii U hardware, graphics, and controller, made him change his mind.

Given the new gameplay capabilities of the Wii U's controller, a Pikmin title for the system would easily open up new possibilities for the franchise.
