At the Electronic Arts press conference this afternoon in Los Angeles, the company announced a new live service titled EA Sports Football Club. This service aims to bring together FIFA fans from around the world to foster the online community beginning with FIFA 12.

EA Sports Football Club will constantly provide new content based on real-world soccer events, will allow you to connect and compete with friends, and more. EA says everything that happens within your games in FIFA 12 will be reflected online. You'll earn experience points, can track progress of your friends, accept challenges, and keep track of your status on easportsfootball.com. You can link your experience with social networks such as Facebook to brag about your accomplishments.

Through EA Sports Football Club fans can also support their favorite teams in Support Your Club, where you can compete against rival clubs within FIFA 12. Earning club points raises your rank in Support Your Club League Tables. Virtual league tables are changed each week for new challenges.

The service is free and will become available when FIFA 12 launches this fall on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
