J.J. Abrams Star Trek Game Coming Next Summer

by Jeff Cork on Jun 03, 2011 at 04:44 AM

Star Trek aficionados have something to look forward to next summer, in addition to the sequel to the J.J. Abrams film reboot. Paramount Digital Entertainment has announced that a game is being developed based on the franchise, which lets players explore an all-new story as Kirk and Spock.

The co-op based game, simply called Star Trek, takes place after the 2009 film. It's being written by God of War writer Marianne Krawczyk in collaboration with the writers and producers of the movies. It's being developed by Digital Extremes, the guys who brought you Dark Sector, the PC version of THQ's Homefront, and BioShock 2's multiplayer. Look for it on the Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3.

Let's all cross our space fingers that it's better than another recent attempt at a Star Trek game.
