Kojima Snaps MGS: Snake Eater 3D Picture

by Joe Juba on Jun 01, 2011 at 09:12 AM

The 3DS version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will have a playable demo at E3 next week, and series creator Hideo Kojima posted a shot of how it will look, including a new interface.

Kojima tweeted this picture of Snake Eater 3DS, revealing that the touch screen will display a map of Snake's current area. In later tweets (as translated by Andriasang), Kojima explains that players will be able to switch weapons by tapping the lower screen, and that the gyroscope will have some impact on the controls. Also, the ability to move while crouching – originally introduced in MGS 4 – will be implemented in this version of Snake Eater.

Kojima himself won't be at E3, but producer Yoshikazu Matsuhana will be representing the studio. Last year, Snake Eater 3D's presence at E3 was a barely interactive movie, so I'm excited to see more of this one in action.
