Come Get Some: Duke Nukem Forever Is Complete

by Joe Juba on May 24, 2011 at 06:49 AM

If you thought it would never happen, it's time to admit you were wrong. Duke Nukem Forever has gone gold, which means it's done and ready to sell to gamers on June 14.

After being an industry joke for over a decade, 2K Games and Gearbox Software is prepared to release the game that many people thought would never see the light of day.

In a 2K Games press release, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford says: "Always bet on Duke, I did. I bet on all of the developers who have ever been a part of this legendary project and I bet that none of us want to live in a world without the Duke. I've played the final game and it is an incredible experience - a once-in-a-lifetime opus of interactive entertainment that reminds me once again why Duke Nukem is our King."

Of course, rather than take the word of the person making the game, you'll have to wait until Duke Nukem Forever comes out next month to determine if all those years in development have produced a fun experience.
