The downloadable Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version is supposed to function as an introduction to Mega Man Legends 3 that will give players a sense of the gameplay in order to provide Capcom with feedback. Fans will have to wait a little longer to get their first taste, however, as the project's release has been delayed.

Prototype Version is scheduled to be a 3DS download, but in a post on Capcom Unity, the game's producer Tatsuya Kitabayashi has announced that it will take a little longer than previously expected. Here's the message in full:

"Today I come to you with an important announcement.

"The release of "Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version", which had been planned to coincide with the launch of the Nintendo eShop at the end of May [in Japan], has been delayed. It's always been our aim in the production of this game to create something that would provide a fun time for all, and from here on out, we will be maintaining this aim with a renewed desire to create a product of the highest quality. Please wait just a little longer!

"My sincere apologies go out to all who have been eagerly awaiting this game's release! It's terribly unfortunate that this announcement had to come right on the heels of the "Real Meeting" [note: this was a hands-on event to take place in Japan, which has also been delayed] delay announcement, as I know many of you are worried. But all of us here on the development team are going to continue working on this project, harder than ever. Keep cheering us on!"

So, what are Mega Man Legends fans to do while waiting for Prototype Version? Why not watch our Super Replay of the original game?
