Weekend Warrior 05/13/11

by Annette Gonzalez on May 13, 2011 at 02:00 PM

The GI staff shares their weekend gaming plans. Find out what we're up to then share your plans in the comments section!

Jeff C: My wife’s out of town to spend time with her friends. That leaves me with two boys to take care of and no time to play anything at all. Being a grownup stinks.

Joe: I’m going to be keeping an eye on gameinformer.com this weekend, posting news stories for your entertainment. Hopefully I’ll be able to sneak a few hours of Mortal Kombat in there somewhere.

Jeff M: This week I finally started Dead Rising 2. It's been a mix of enjoyment (exploring an open world filled with zombies) and frustration (replaying large segments because of a screwy save system/psycho battles). In addition to more DR 2, I might play a little more Pinball FX 2, just to cement my high score domination over my fellow co-workers.

Hanson: This weekend I will try and make up for the ghosts of weekends past and actually play through the fourth episode of Back to the Future. I’m still having daily daydreams of Minecraft, so I hope to scratch that itch til it bleeds at some point this weekend. Have a good weekend!

Tim:
This weekend I’ll be continuing my quest in Final Fantasy X after a brief hiatus. I also hope to figure out what the hell I’m supposed to do next in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. I’m stuck in some sort of desert maze thing. I also hope to finally train a hardware engineer in Game Dev Story, and also continue my quest in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.

Phil:
After a long week away on a work trip for something exciting that’s coming up soon, I’m going to spend the weekend relaxing and getting in some much-needed gaming…until I leave for my next trip on Sunday! On the docket for tonight and Saturday: Crysis 2, Divinity II: Dragon Knight Saga, Mortal Kombat, and probably a handful of random iPad games (mostly Words with Friends). Also, lots of dreaming about next weekend’s L.A. Noire marathon once I get back from my next trip…

Annette: Dental issues have kept me away from gaming as I've spent a lot of time fighting pain with sleep-inducing medicines this past week. Turns out I need these pesky wisdom teeth removed. Antibiotics prescribed by my dentist have helped a little so I'm hoping to finally feel better enough to do something other than stare at the television in agony. I'll be playing a couple Kinect games for review and wrapping up Outland.

Dan: Probably gonna be a somewhat low-key weekend. Will probably spend my days getting errands done and playing games, and the nights at a bar somewhere. Game-wise, I’m working on de Blob 2 and Outland, as well as continued work on Mortal Kombat.

Jeff A: Well, my gaming options have decreased significantly since my launch PS3 decided to up and yellow light on me from out of nowhere. So now I'm relegated to staring at the wall and trying to get the stupid thing fixed. I picked up a Slim to prevent such a travesty from happening again, but since the PSN has been down for what seems like a decade, I can't even sync my account info to my new system. So all I've been doing is waiting. Waiting for the PSN to come back online. Waiting. So while I continue to wait I might as well tell you all about how fun it is. That, and I might spend a little more time with my Wii.

That's it for us. What are you playing this weekend?
