Footage Surfaces Of Cancelled Bourne Project Treadstone Game

by Matt Helgeson on May 13, 2011 at 01:09 PM

A few years ago, Radical Entertainment was working on a multiplayer Bourne game based for Vivendi, which owned the rights to the Robert Ludlum estate's Bourne IP.

The game was working under the name "Project Treadstone" (named for the nefarious, ultra-secret government program that turned Jason Bourne into a killing machine). Unfortunately, during the merger between Vivendi and Activision, the project was killed and never completed. A former texture artist on the project has now posted a video of a Project Treadstone demo on Vimeo, which you can watch below.

Also, developer Christopher Hassell, who worked on the project, as posted some screens and information about the game on his blog. In his post, he says the team had created a working demo that featured "over based gunplay, vehicles and parkour style platforming and movement."

Who knows how the game would have turned out, but it's unfortunate the team never had a chance to finish the project. The Bourne franchise seems like a natural fit for games, but has struggled to find a place.
