Fighting fans have been enjoying the newest incarnation of Mortal Kombat for several weeks, and part of the game's popularity is its return to the series' roots. If you have no idea what those roots are, you should probably check out the upcoming Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection.

The game will be available for download  on PC, Xbox Live, and PSN in late summer, and includes Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat III. You'll get all three games for the low price of 800 MS points or $10.

According to Warner Bros.' press release, the Arcade Kollection is "arcade-perfect," and is being developed at Other Ocean in conjunction with the MK creative team at NetherRealm studio.

After adding more new characters to the roster over the years, it will be interesting to return to the original Mortal Kombat's character select screen with only seven available fighters.
