Call of Duty Online Announcement Coming Next Week?
Gaming site Rock, Paper, Shotgun believes Activision is readying battle plans for a major announcement. Could it be a subscription based or free-to-play multiplayer offering for PC?
In the site's own words: "Our sinister agents have picked up some information about Activision preparing to make a major announcement regarding the Call Of Duty franchise, and it sounds like the PC could be at the heart of it."
The move wouldn't be a major surprise given that the company executives have openly speculated about the possibility in the past, but the timing is odd considering E3 is right around the corner. Activision has an earnings call scheduled for Monday, so if there are immediate plans in the works, we'll likely hear a vague reference to the project.
