UPDATE: Budget Priced Wii Games To Accompany Console Price Drop

UPDATE: Nintendo has confirmed a Wii price drop to $150, and the change will go into effect in just a few weeks.

Nintendo now says the Wii price drop will begin on May 15, according to a post today by MSNBC. In addition, as previously rumored, the new $150 system will come with a copy of Mario Kart Wii and the accompany racing wheel. Nintendo also clarified that the new Nintendo Selects line of budget titles will include the following games: Animal Crossing: City Folk, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess,  Mario Super Sluggers, and Wii Sports.

Kotaku reports that Nintendo will be lowering the price of a Wii console to $149.99 within the month. In addition, gamers can look forward to several $19.99 budget priced Wii games. The new line will be called Nintendo Selects. Conflicting reports from various sources indicate that the early titles in the Nintendo Selects program will include Animal Crossing: City Folk, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Mario Super Sluggers, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Reports also indicate that new Wii consoles will soon be packaged with Mario Kart Wii, and Wii Sports will be available separately.
