Electronic Arts has firmed up an agreement to acquire mobile game developer Firemint, known for hits like Flight Control and Real Racing.

The Australian studio will become part of EAi when the deal closes in about four weeks. Gaming news hounds will also remember that Firemint just bought Infinite Interactive as well, the developer behind the Puzzle Quest series and Warlords. It's unclear if these IPs will now be EA's, but we've asked for clarification and will update when we hear back.

This latest announcement is the latest in EA's growing mobile division. The company has recently purchased mobile publisher Chillingo and Mobile Post Production, a mobile game porting outfit.
