Sega Talks Phantasy Star Online 2

by Joe Juba on Apr 25, 2011 at 12:31 PM

The follow-up to Phantasy Star Online was revealed at TGS last year, but now Sega has released some tidbits about the direction and goals for Phantasy Star Online 2.

At an event in Akihabara, series producer Satoshi Sakai claimed that the game will convey a sense of adventure that has been lost in modern RPGs. Sega also showed a video giving an overview of the story, which deals with a fleet of ships called Oracle and an evil force that the players will fight in massive, planet-spanning adventures.

An alpha test (like a beta test, but earlier) will kick off this summer in Japan, so we can expect more details in the coming months. In the meantime, you can check out Andriasang's full translation of the information at the event.
